Shot in the Frontier is the 157th short subject starring American slapstick comedy team the Three Stooges. The trio made a total of 190 shorts for Columbia Pictures between 1934 and 1959.

Shot in the Frontier was filmed on October 2628, 1953, nearly one year prior to its release. It is a parody of the 1952 Stanley Kramer Western High Noon.
